Surah Ash Shams (The Sun) Ayat 1

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
  • Muhammad Habib Shakir: I swear by the sun and its brilliance,
  • Abdullah Yusuf Ali: By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour;
  • M.Pickthall: By the sun and his brightness,
  • Amatul Rahmân Omer: I call to witness the sun and its light and heat,
  • Maulana Mohammad Ali: And the moon when she borrows light from him!
