Muhammad Habib Shakir: And We made of them Imams to guide by Our command when they were patient, and they were certain of Our communications.
Abdullah Yusuf Ali: And We appointed, from among them, leaders, giving guidance under Our command, so long as they persevered with patience and continued to have faith in Our Signs.
M.Pickthall: And when they became steadfast and believed firmly in Our revelations, We appointed from among them leaders who guided by Our command.
Amatul Rahmân Omer: So long as they remained steadfast We raised leaders from among them. They guided (the people) by Our command; and the people had firm faith in Our signs.
Maulana Mohammad Ali: And who is more iniquitous than he who is reminded of the messages of his Lord, then he turns away from them? Surely We exact retribution from the guilty.
