Muhammad Habib Shakir: And how many a generation have We destroyed before them! Do you see any one of them or hear a sound of them?
Abdullah Yusuf Ali: But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them?
M.Pickthall: And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Canst thou (Muhammad) see a single man of them, or hear from them the slightest sound?
Amatul Rahmân Omer: Many a generation have We destroyed before them! Can you find (so much as) a single one of them or can you hear (even) a whisper of them?
Maulana Mohammad Ali: So We have made it easy in thy tongue only that thou shouldst give good news thereby to those who guard against evil, and shouldst warn thereby a contentious people.
